About Us
The Wilson County Prayer Breakfast was founded to bring our faith community together in unity, lifting up our local government and community leaders in prayer. We believe that Wilson County—one of Middle Tennessee’s most vibrant communities—will continue to thrive through a foundation of faith, strong families, and prayerful leadership.
Q & A
What is the purpose of this event?
The goal of this event is two fold, to unite our community through a series of prayers focused on things we seek and to provide fellowship between all that serve the creator of the universe.
What is the difference between an event sponsor and table sponsor?
An event sponsor is noted in the program as being such plus will receive preferential seating of tables. Event sponsors will also be listed in the program with the company logo or individual name. All table sponsors will be listed in the program in alphabetical order.
Why does it cost less to buy an individual ticket versus a table?
We strive to drive individual seat costs to a minimum in order to allow everyone an opportunity to attend. Excess funds from event sponsors and table sponsors will be used to expand our purpose to others across Wilson County. One event that is being discussed could focus on our High Schools.
Does Wilson County Prayer Breakfast have any paid staff members?
No, all that work to put the event on does so by volunteering.
Our Story
In early 2024, Gary Whitaker, retired executive of Wilson Bank and Trust envisioned a meaningful gathering of local leaders—judges, law enforcement officers, ministers, educators, and government officials—united in prayer and purpose. To help bring this vision to life, he reached out to Kevin Owen, Preaching Minister at College Hills Church of Christ, and Jon Reynolds, Worship Minister at College Hills, to assist in organizing and launching the event.
